On June 29, 2023, INSEE Vietnam was honored to receive Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards, organized by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine in two categories E-S-G Leadership and Optimize the sustainable materials.

The Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards 2023 (CSA) organized by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine with the theme " Eternal Value E-S-G " to honor Enterprises with practical and compliant actions related to Environment, Society and Governance. INSEE Vietnam is honored to receive this award for the second time, which is a positive recognition for the efforts that the Company has been, is and will be implementing in the “Build for Life” journey that INSEE pursues.

With more than 50 years of leadership journey in the field of sustainable construction materials production in Asia, INSEE Group has set out its Sustainable Development Ambition with a vision to 2030 following the E-S-G Commitments. In Vietnam, the goals to realize this ambition have been integrated throughout the business's value chain and in cooperation with relevant parties to protect the environment, creating positive values ​​for excellent social and corporate governance. 

Specifically with the Environment goal, INSEE has been making efforts in activities to reduce carbon emissions through the use of alternative fuels and raw materials. Currently, INSEE has the lowest CO2 emission level in the industry in Vietnam, at 379 kg CO2/ton of cement produced (2022 data) compared to 667 kg/CO2 ton of cement (estimated by the Vietnam Cement Association - VNCA in 2022). At the same time, INSEE also minimizes impacts on biodiversity through collaborative activities with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and ensures responsible use of water resources at all sites/ plant by INSEE.

Society is the next objective that INSEE strives to create a positive impact on society, improve people's quality of life, provide the safe workplace as well as connect with the community where the company operates. In INSEE's social responsibility strategy, the company focuses on three main pillars including sustainable community development, infrastructure development and education support throughout Southern Vietnam. INSEE focuses on sustainable infrastructure and community development in rural areas where INSEE factories operate, as it is considered the best investment for society and engagement with local governments by calling on INSEE employees to directly contribute volunteer hours to meaningful social activities. Up to now, INSEE has renovated and built nearly 20 houses for disadvantaged households, more than 120km of roads have been concreted and 14 bridges have been built. Currently, INSEE is in the process of building 5 loving homes for households in need of help in Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province. With the goal of developing education, the Enterprise-base Vocational Education program (EVE), INSEE has helped develop labor resources and provide local employment opportunities in the Hon Chong plant area, creating opportunities for more than 200 students here. In addition, the Company also organizes the INSEE Prize competition, a playground towards sustainable construction for students and actualizes the winning designs.

For the Governance, INSEE always manages the interests of stakeholders in a responsible and sustainable manner. At INSEE Vietnam, good corporate governance is encouraged at every level of the organization. As a member of Siam City Cement Public Company Limited, INSEE Vietnam complies with the Group's Corporate Governance Policy and Code of Business Conduct along with other management policies in Vietnam, further strengthening The Company's commitment to the highest standards of business integrity in all transactions, setting global standards in INSEE measures, preventing non-compliance.

According to Mr. Dao Nguyen Khanh - Head of Sustainability and Corporate Communications, representative of INSEE Vietnam shared: "At INSEE, we are promoting our E-S-G ambitions through strict governance and control the implementation process of each initiative is reviewed by the Sustainable Development Council every 2 months at the level of each host country to the entire Group. Each initiative and implementation plan will be directly managed and directed by the Board of Directors to ensure accelerated implementation, helping INSEE achieve its annual goals and ambitions of Sustainable Development until 2030.”
