Suchart Chomklin (right), Minister of Labour, recently presided over a ceremony to bestow a plaque of honor upon those making a significant contribution to skills development networks and supporting the operations of the Department of Skills Development. At the ceremony, the minister presented a recognition plaque to management of Siam City Cement Public Company Limited (SCCC), or INSEE. On hand to receive the plaque on behalf of SCCC was Netiwat​ Umrod (left), Sustainable Development and Internal Communication Department Manager. Mr.Netiwat then took the minister on a tour of SCCC’s exhibition booth that showcased SCCC products and innovations. 

The highlight was a presentation on SCCC’s advanced cement production processes that are known to help reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption at different stages of production. The result of this energy saving production method are the innovative "INSEE Petch Plus" and “Separate Grinding” projects. The ceremony took place recently at the Ministry of Labour’s fifth-floor FM Por Pibulsongkram conference room.

SCCC has consistently garnered plaques of honor from the Ministry of Labour over the past many years. Last year SCCC donated 260 tons of cement to the Ministry of Labour in support of the ministry’s training programs for construction workers in 20 provinces. The training covered different subjects in the curriculum of the Department of Skills Development. The donated cement was also used in the training workshops organized under the INSEE Construction Workers 4.0 project that aimed to develop the skills of construction workers in different provinces nationwide. SCCC has been providing support to these training programs for more than two decades with the goal of developing the skills of Thai workers in the construction sector so that the trainees have better skills and their completed building work has a high quality. These training workshops   aimed to provide income generating opportunities and reduce the unemployment rate at the community and national levels. All of these noble efforts also align with SCCC’s 2030 INSEE sustainable development ambitions.
