Thusith C. Gunawarnasuriya joined Siam City Cement Lanka as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 1, 2025. With over 24 years of diverse leadership experience across multiple industries, Thusith brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the INSEE.

Thusith is a well-recognized expert in business strategy, operations, and supply chain management, actively contributing to knowledge forums locally and globally.

A long-standing contributor with 10 years of dedicated service to INSEE’s success under Holcim (Lanka) Ltd, LafargeHolcim, and INSEE, he has played pivotal roles that have significantly influenced the company’s operations and strategic direction. Beyond INSEE, his career spans various operational and leadership positions at prominent multinational and local organizations, including Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC, Hemas Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd, Fonterra Brands Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, GlaxoSmithKline and MAS Active. His professional journey extends across Sri Lanka and internationally, with experience in India, Bangladesh , Switzerland, Thailand, and Kenya.

He holds a Bachelor of Science with honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colombo, and a Master of Science in Business and Organizational Psychology from Coventry University, UK. Additionally, he has participated in Executive Leadership Development programs at IMD, Switzerland, and the National University of Singapore.

Thusith is an active member of several professional bodies, including IEEE (US), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) UK, the Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) Sri Lanka, and the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL).

With his extensive expertise and visionary leadership, Thusith is well-positioned to drive INSEE to new heights of operational excellence and sustainable growth.
