Since its launch, INSEE Prize 2025 has engaged more than 1,100 students through 19 workshops across universities nationwide, inspiring the younger generation with social responsibility and sustainable development thinking in the architecture and construction fields. To date, after 17 seasons, the INSEE Prize journey has reached over 23,000 students, becoming one of Vietnam’s most reputable and longest-standing academic competitions for this student community.

The INSEE Prize 2025 Final round brought together the Top 5 teams to compete, present, and defend their projects before a distinguished jury of leading experts, including: Mr. Pham Van Bac – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Building Materials Association; Ms. Lalitpat Kerdkrung – Consul, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Tran Khanh Trung – Chairman of TTT Architectural Design JSC; Mr. Ha Ngoc Anh Minh – Director of Kingspan Vietnam Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Vu Linh Quang – Managing Director of ARDOR Architects. With extensive experience and an international outlook, the jury offered multi-dimensional perspectives and a comprehensive assessment of each project’s creativity, applicability, and social impact—ultimately selecting the INSEE Prize 2025 Champion as a standout embodiment of innovation for a sustainable future.

This year, INSEE Prize 2025 introduced two notable enhancements to the award structure and the project implementation budget. For the first time, the competition added a Third Prize to recognize and honor teams with outstanding ideas. In addition, the VND 200 million implementation budget—traditionally awarded to the Champion project—will, in cases where the winning project cannot be implemented in practice, be considered by the jury for transfer to one of the remaining Top 5 projects. This mechanism helps amplify the “for the community” spirit, encouraging more social projects to be realized and deliver tangible value to those in need.

Even more meaningfully, 2025 also marks a significant milestone as the Champion project of INSEE Prize 2024—“Thư viện Hướng Dương” (Sunflower Library)—was officially handed over to the Center for Inclusive Education Support Development of Vinh Long Province, providing a safe, modern, and creative learning space for children with special needs in the locality. This achievement demonstrates INSEE’s commitment to transforming students’ ideas into real-life projects that improve quality of life and contribute to sustainable community development.

The project “Vườn Ươm Mầm” by students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture was crowned Champion of INSEE Prize 2025. Second Prize was awarded to “Hiên Trong Làng” by students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, while Third Prize went to “Trạm Sáng Tạo” from Vietnamese-German University. In addition, the two Consolation Prizes were awarded to “Góc nhớ - Em mơ” from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and “Nắng Sau Mưa” from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

Over 17 years, INSEE Prize has become more than an academic competition—it is a journey that nurtures sustainable thinking and social responsibility in the younger generation, who will shape the future of Vietnam’s construction sector. Guided by the philosophy “Build for Life,” INSEE Vietnam continues to affirm its pioneering role in connecting knowledge, encouraging creativity, and spreading human-centered values—toward a greener, more sustainable world for all.

Information on the Top 5 Projects at the INSEE Prize 2025 Final round
Project: “Góc nhớ - Em mơ”
Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology
Student team: Van Nguyen Duy Khang – Nguyen Phuoc Loc – Vu Huynh Gia Kiet
Project overview: The project envisions a space that preserves memories, dreams, and everyday moments of children at Co Nhi Thien Binh Orphanage—where every smile, gaze, and story is cherished as a piece of childhood. This space serves as a place to sow seeds, build trust, nurture hope, and soothe life’s darker corners, helping children feel more confident on their journey to adulthood.

Project: “Hiên Trong Làng”
Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology
Student team: Ly An – Le Quoc Cuong – Nguyen Duy Tan
Project overview: “Hiên Trong Làng” is a community space model that connects generations on Thanh An island commune, inspired by the traditional Vietnamese house veranda. Designed to be open and sustainable, it combines a quiet reading and tea area for the elderly with a creative garden for children—creating a meeting place for sharing and bonding between generations, contributing to a warmer and more resilient island community.

Project: “Nắng Sau Mưa”
University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City
Student team: Ngo Thi Hong Chinh – Pham Thi Gia Hue – Nguyen Quynh Nhat Vy
Project overview: The project operates under a “business that sustains charity” model—where small-scale trading and affordable laundry services generate funds to maintain free bathing and sanitation facilities for homeless people. From simple elements like a small shelter and clean water, the project aims to rekindle trust and self-respect for disadvantaged lives, helping them feel the warmth of compassion in the heart of the city.

Project: “Trạm Sáng Tạo”
Vietnamese-German University
Student team: Dang Dong Nghi – Nguyen Hai Nghi – Tran Gia Han
Project overview: “Trạm Sáng Tạo” is a modular space for young people, students, and independent artists. Easy to assemble and adaptable to various urban contexts, it responds to the shortage of affordable spaces for sharing art and ideas. It is an open venue for exhibitions, workshops, and meetups—promoting cultural exchange, sustainability, and community connection through simple materials and flexible design.

Project: “Vườn Ươm Mầm”
Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture
Student team: Dinh Gia Bao – Le Nguyen Hai Dong
Project overview: The project aims to develop a facility that completes three functional spaces, offering children at “Mai Am Co Mai” a place to learn, play, and grow positively. The proposal also addresses existing issues related to function and usability of the current structure.
