INSEE VIETNAM CONTINUES OUR EFFORTS TO CONTROL INVASIVE PLANT SPECIES AND CONTRIBUTE TO BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

2026-06-26
Continuing its journey to turn sustainability commitments and nature conservation into action, INSEE Vietnam partnered with the Phu My Species and Habitat Conservation Area to organize an invasive plant removal activity along canal banks in Kien Luong Commune, An Giang Province.

During the program, INSEE volunteers and conservation staff worked together to remove two common invasive plant species included Mimosa pigra and Pontederia crassipes, along a 5-kilometer stretch of canal. These fast-growing invasive species outcompete native vegetation, reduce biodiversity, obstruct water flow, and negatively impact water quality as well as the habitats of numerous plant and animal species.

This initiative is part of INSEE's long-term biodiversity action program, supporting the company's commitment to achieving a Net Positive Impact on Biodiversity in the areas where it operates. Beyond restoring local ecosystems, the activity also helps raise awareness among employees and local communities about the importance of controlling invasive alien species as a key measure for protecting biodiversity.

For INSEE Vietnam, biodiversity conservation is not merely an environmental initiative—it is a core pillar of the company's sustainability strategy. Alongside investments in green technologies and sustainable manufacturing, INSEE is committed to protecting and restoring local natural ecosystems, creating long-term value for both the environment and surrounding communities.

Looking ahead, INSEE will continue collaborating with government authorities, conservation organizations, and local communities to implement practical initiatives that restore ecosystems, protect native species, and strengthen the resilience of natural environments against the impacts of climate change.

Through meaningful actions taken today, INSEE Vietnam remains committed to working hand in hand with local communities to preserve biodiversity and help build a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
