INSEE VIETNAM ORGANIZED THE GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY OF “MANG NON” BOOK STATION IN BINH TRI COMMUNE, KIEN LUONG DISTRICT

On the morning of February 23rd, 2024, INSEE Vietnam coordinated with local authorities of Binh Tri commune (Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province) to organize the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the “Mang Non” Book Station at Binh Primary & Secondary School. This is the Champion project of the INSEE Prize 2022 from the National University - Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology team.

With the goal of providing pupils with a safety space for studying, reading and extracurricular activities, the project of building a book station with green features and using sustainable materials has convinced the Board of Juries of the INSEE Prize 2022 to become the champion project and be realized in practice. After a period of adjusting the design to suit the construction location, calling on partners to accompany and receiving approval from the beneficiary, on February 23rd, 2024, the Commencement Ceremony officially took place. construction of the “Mang Non” Book Station with the participation of representatives of local leaders, INSEE Vietnam organizing unit and project author group at Binh Tri Primary & Secondary School in Rach Dung hamlet, Kien Luong district, province Kien Giang.

The journey of actualizing the first dream project of the group of students who won the INSEE Prize 2022 Champion award becomes closer with the participation from partners including: Kingspan Company Limited, Nippon Paint (Vietnam) Company Limited, REE Corporation, Reetech, GreenViet Green Building Consultancy and Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC).

During the ceremony, Ms. Pham Hai Yen - Principal of Binh Tri Primary & Secondary School shared a few words: "After being informed that the “Mang Non” Book Station would be built at the school, the Board of Directors, and pupils all very excited. Although the school has a library for students, the facilities have deteriorated over time and the books are not diverse. I look forward to the “Mang Non” Book Station being completed soon so that pupils can have a safe and sustainable space for reading, studying, and participating in extracurricular activities."
It is expected that the “Mang Non” book station will be completed and handed over in April 2024. This project will provide a safe and sustainable living and learning space for 600 elementary and middle school students, contributing a small part to the goal of developing educational facilities and improving the lives of local communities.
