On March 25, 2026, INSEE Prize 2026 was officially launched, reaffirming its position as one of the most prestigious academic competitions for Architecture and Construction students nationwide. Entering its 18th year, INSEE Prize continues to pursue its mission of advancing sustainable construction, while encouraging generations of architecture and construction students to develop solutions that are practical, humane, and relevant to today’s development context. The competition seeks ideas that go beyond design aesthetics to deliver functional efficiency, material optimization, environmental friendliness, and long-term positive social impact.

A key highlight of INSEE Prize 2026 is the introduction of the Innovation Award, which opens opportunities for outstanding concepts that may not yet be feasible within the implementation budget set by the Organizing Committee. Under this category, the Organizing Committee encourages not only impressive design concepts, but also ideas related to new and sustainable materials that help reduce CO2 emissions compared to conventional materials while maintaining strong practical application. This new award will be selected and presented directly by the Jury during the Final Round. The addition of the Innovation Award not only broadens the competition’s evaluation scope, but also reinforces INSEE’s commitment to supporting bold, innovative ideas with strong potential to shape the future of Vietnam’s construction industry.

INSEE Prize 2026 offers a total prize value of up to VND 320 million, including VND 200 million in project implementation funding for the Champion project to bring its concept to life. This has long been one of the defining features of INSEE Prize: beyond recognizing great ideas, the competition creates real opportunities for students to see their work materialize and directly contribute to the community.

In case the Champion project cannot be implemented for either objective or subjective reasons, the opportunity to realize the project will be transferred to one of the other four projects in the Top 5 finalists, based on the Jury’s final decision. This mechanism ensures that the most outstanding ideas still have the opportunity to move forward, maximizing the practical value that the competition aims to deliver.

Over the past 17 years, INSEE Prize has become a meaningful and enduring journey connecting academia, creativity, and community practice. From a student competition, it has gradually evolved into a launchpad for human-centered ideas, where young people can apply their expertise to address real societal challenges. To date, the competition has brought 12 projects to life, benefited 6,500 people, reached 23,102 students nationwide, and received 4,070 project submissions. These numbers not only reflect the scale and impact of INSEE Prize but also stand as proof of the trust it has built among students, lecturers, and professionals over nearly two decades.

Through this competition, INSEE hopes to inspire students across the country to confidently propose distinctive ideas, take on more challenging topics, and nurture a mindset of creating projects that not only serve people today, but also contribute to a greener future for generations to come. It is an opportunity for young people who dare to think beyond a drawing, dare to create more than just a building, and work together to shape sustainable values for the community.
